Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Nonprofit Organization (Flagstaff, Az )
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The CFO provides leadership by planning, directing, coordinating, providing and improving the services of the fiscal and treasury functions of a nonprofit hospice in response to community and patient needs. These services include but are not limited to: General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Receivables, Investments, Cash Management, Financial Analysis and Fiscal long term and short term planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Manage Accountant, Billing Specialist, and Human Resources in accordance with their daily responsibilities at Hospice.
Organizes, directs and supervises accounting and financial aspects of a nonprofit hospice.
Computes operating costs and prepares and submits financial reports to CEO and Board Finance Committee.
Assists auditors by assuring financial records are compiled in an orderly manner and available for audit.
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring working capital investments in accordance with Board of Directors approved policy.
Has direct line responsibility for finance, patient accounting, IT, and materials management for all the business.
Oversees the preparation of annual budget through the coordinated efforts of the CEO, hospice team and Board of Directors.
Supervises control over reimbursement from third party payors and compliance with approved billing procedures.
Facilitates the preparation of the Medicare Cost Report annually.
Prepares special financial reports as requested, studies and analyzes accounting, financial and business operations.
Keeps CEO informed on all material financial matters in a timely, accurate, and understandable manner.
Interprets financial reports for administration in making decisions, which will maintainorganization in a sound financial position.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements as per organization policies.
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required
Masters Degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in Hospice or related field preferred
Knowledge of GAAP, Non-Profit Accounting experience preferred
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and current auto insurance
Certified Public Accountant Desirable
